The Red Balloon

Recently Ive been developing a portfolio for a Visual Development internship position that a few animation studios are offering this summer. This was something that I've always wanted to be a part of, yet had never felt ready to apply for. Here I've posted a few pages of different stories Ive been working on- some old, some new. This has been a bit different in approach than other illustration projects I've worked on. None of these I'd say are a finished or final product, but rather sketches and rough ideas to explore an environment or a character.

Above is a story, rather the beginnings of a short animation that I've started working on. The idea is based on the original- "Red Balloon"- a 1956 French film about a balloon that follows a boy around Paris.

  4. These are dope, brah... That interview looks in the bag! One thing I noticed was on the alien mobsters' underground "layer" which should read "Lair". Just so that no one gets hung up on that...

    Good luck, looks solid!
